Trip To Bukit Malawati (Kuala Selangor Location 1)
It was about a 30-minute drive from Kuala Lumpur to Bukit Malawati (Kuala Selangor). Here's some tips before reaching the destination,do bring lots of food like bananas, bread or peanuts for the monkeys) Not to worry monkeys there are very friendly :) There will be a "Tractor Tramp" that will take us up the hill and ticket price was RM3 which takes you to Bukit Malawati & Taman Ikan Air Tawar but its free if you would prefer walking up the hill,no need ticket! So when you reach on top, you can see the "Baitul Hilal" its a latticed building at the summit of Bkt.Malawati which was constructed for religious authorities to sight the new moon to set the time for the start of Ramadan & Shawal (for the Muslim) Then you can see a nice white "Light House" its been there since the 18th century. You will know more about the history when your there...I don't wanna ruin the surprise hehehe :) Next, I had my eyes on the "Cannons" which was used during the Selangor Civil War! Oh! not to forget about the monkeys...they are everywhere!!! You would be delighted to see Silverleaf Monkeys and Long Tail Macaques free-roaming everywhere!!!. Interesting facts bout the Silverleaf Monkeys, adults are dark-haired with a tinge of silver, while the babies are a bright orange kinda gold color :) Other attractions like "The Royal Mausoleum","Quaint Rest House","The Poison Well" and some old graveyard which if I'm not mistaken was called the "Traitor's Graveyard"
